This is a remote operated switch. It will send power from a 3s LiPo to
its output when operated by a two position switch on your transmitter.
The battery voltage is monitored by this controller. When the voltage
at the battery connector is below about 9.3 volts and the output is
switched on, the output will flash. This lets you know it is time to
connect a new battery.
If you wanted to run an external battery so that you could run a different voltage to the lights or just didn't want to load down the supply that powers your receiver and servos, you were out of luck.
The HeyOK External Power Remote Switch With LiPo Cutoff lets you turn your lighting on and off and run it from another power supply.
You can connect a small three cell (3s) LiPo battery pack.
The component that takes care of the power switching is rated to accept 13 volts.
Due to the lack of heat sink and the gauge of the wires used for the build, HeyOK suggest that you keep the load to less than 5 amps.
