Steel! Real STEEL. Strengthens the housing, adds weight down low for better traction, and gives the C-hubs and lockouts a super strong mounting point inside the plastic axle tube. I love these things. Only 1 of the 4 I got (2 sets) required a bit of messaging to get installed and that was due to a manufacturing defect in the Axial housing, not the beef tube. This is the best setup in my opinion. You get to keep the stock plastic housings that slide over rocks like butter but get the strength of steel and, if it ever comes time to replace the housing, $12 bucks for a new AR60 housing and swap over the beef tubes. Installation note: if you are still running stock wraith axle shafts, front or rear, you will need to grind down the inner collar on both shafts. This is easily done with a file or grinder in less than 5 minutes. I used my dremel. Axial universals slide right in with no modification.
