Monster Trucks have always been fascinating with their stunning looks, character identities and monster sized tires. Tires remain the key item when seeing a monster for the first time and it’s no different in the world of radio control. When it’s time to outfit an R/C monster truck, it’s important to have the scale look, proportions and size associated with the larger than life beasts. Meet the Firestorm tire by JConcepts.

66 x 43x 25″ is the standard issue size of monster truck tires before any buffing or trim has been applied to the tread. JConcepts is on top of the monster truck scene with knowledge and passion reserved only to the true fans of the vehicles. The Firestorm tire packs the scale look and performance of the 1:1 tires but with the all important race concept. Inspiration has been drawn from the 1990’s era of side-by-side racing where performance, weight and appearance made all the difference.

The Firestorms roll with a scale height and width which give competition and show trucks the ground clearance, stance and forward traction necessary to look and act the part. The lowered flat bar design of the tread provides a stable lug capable of gripping an assortment of surfaces while the side-wall has plenty of strength to withstand high-speed cornering. The tire lettering has an authentic appearance indicating many of the popular wordings, warnings and details associated with large scale floatation tires. The retro style JConcepts logo pulls inspiration from a time when all out performance was priority number 1.

The Firestorms measure in at 6.2 x 4.0 x 2.6” and are available in two different compounds. The soft “blue” compound which is recommended for dirt, grass and asphalt feels noticeably mushy and sticky and has expanding characteristics similar to off-road racings outdoor compounds. The “gold” compound feels harder to the touch and excels on carpet, AstroTurf and polished concrete surfaces and expands less during high-speeds.
