The VS4-10 Ultra & Phoenix Portal kits, as well as the VFD Transmission Kit, all come with 'sintered' gears. Sooner, or later, under excessive stress, they WILL break, leaving you stranded (ok, technically, just leaving the vehicle stranded). Instead of waiting for that to happen, get them replaced...ASAP...with these machined gears (NOTE - ONLY the first 2 can be used in the VFD-Twin, but Vanquish IS working on a machined gear set for the 'Twin').

They are machined steel.
The machined steel gears are a lovely bit of overkill in a 1:10 crawler kit, so completely over engineered. Lovely, but the sintered gears that come in the VFD kit, or the VS4-10 Ultra are a step up from ANY sintered gear I've seen elsewhere. So, if you have to, go ahead, but after a few hours of running the sintered gears will be as quiet as the machined and more than strong enough for ANYTHI
